I am pleased to introduce myself as the Clerk to the Governing Body at Reaside Academy. My name is Rachael Satterthwaite and I joined the SIPS Education in September 2017. I clerk a number of schools within Birmingham Local Authority including both LA Maintained and Reaside Academy, which is part of the ECMAT Multi Academy Trust. I also clerk for the Sandwell Virtual School for Looked After Children. This along with my previous experience within the Local Authority and working within the Dudley Virtual School for LAC has given me a breadth of experience across the education sector and I have good knowledge of governance legislation, which enables me to provide advice to the Governing Board when required. I work well as part of the Governing Board at Reaside and I have developed strong working relationships with the Head Teacher, Chair and Governors to have a positive impact on the strategic direction of the school. My role enables me to take an overarching view of the Governing Board in order to provide clarity of vision and objectivity when needed. I am constantly reflecting on my own performance and looking at ways to improve my skills, processes and knowledge.
I am very pleased to join the Governing Body at Reaside and I am looking forward to being a part of this passionate school.
